Storytelling

This imaginative course conducted by the Kelaza storytellers and educators cater to 3 to 7-year-olds, blends the enchantment of storytelling with fundamental early learning concepts.
Central to this adventure is the nurturing of language and numeracy skills. Through captivating tales, children delve into new vocabulary and numerical concepts, from counting twinkling stars to exploring the names of forest creatures. These stories serve as a gateway to language and numeracy exploration with progressive development of speaking, reading and writing skills and honing of comprehension, analytical, evaluative and creative abilities.
The stories also enhance the social and emotional abilities and environmental learning of children. Through the stories the children embark upon nature walks, connecting with the world around them. They grasp the changing seasons, the significance of trees, and the role of animals, fostering a profound bond with their surroundings.
Each course module will be completed in a year. Twenty stories will be told in Bengali and twenty in English. Each storytelling activity will be followed by creative-learning activities for children either individually or in online groups. Each child will be required to have: a) A blank drawing book b) A Four-line Copy c) Loose Dista Sheets d) Pencil, Eraser and Crayon. Other easy-to-get locally-sourcable materials will be asked for at times and this will be told to guardians in advance. Also, there will be a revision and assessment session after every five stories. This hands-on approach will not only elevate their cognitive and socio-emotional prowess but also help to cultivate creativity and fine motor skills.
By the end of each module, children will develop the skills to read, understand, create, and narrate stories that reflect their enriched learning. This will greatly boost their academic performance in school.
