সেহেতু নতুন গোল ঠিক… জিতু ভাইয়ার মতো কেউ একটা হয়ে ওঠা, কেমিস্ট্রির অলিগলি ঘুরে যতটা শিখেছি, জেনেছি তার সিংহভাগ যথাসম্ভব সহজ আঙ্গিকে ছাত্র ছাত্রীদের সঙ্গে ভাগ করে নেওয়া।

Dr Tarakranjan Gupta, an Intellectual Property professional with about 17 years of industrial experience to deal with end to end solutions for Patentability, Novelty analysis, Patent and Technology Landscaping, Freedom to practice, designing around, maintaining patent portfolio and drafting office actions for IN, US, EP and CA patent applications. He is experienced in Patent, Literature searches and Technology analysis in Chemical, Biochemical, Biotechnology, Polymer, Separation Science and Water treatment domains.

Tarakranjan started his professional career as IP analyst in GE plastics and supported Polycarbonate and Polyester product business. Later, He single handedly supported Shell Biofuel (Gen-2 Biotechnology) and Polyol businesses for downstream as patent analyst. He also worked with a team of technologists, business and competitive intelligence analyst to put forward the Technology and IP Maturation Plan for Shell biofuel. He led a team to execute an experimental R & D program for Shell Downstream Water Treatment at Shell Bangalore Laboratory which ultimately resulted a successful pilot demonstration at US refineries and patent applications in the field of metal / non-metal removal from the effluent. The project also involved an External Technology Collaboration agreement with Indian Institute of Science Bangalore to execute a part of R & D. He supervised two MS students for their Thesis on downstream water treatment technology.

Tarakranjan was also associated with Water Innovation R & D of EcoWater, a Berkshire Hathaway company as a technology and team lead for Water sensor and separation. He led low cost water filter innovation for rural India as Vice President of Livinguard. At present he is associated with Baxter as Senior Principal Engineer responsible for cost effective production of highly purified water and ensuring IP rights in this domain.

Tarakranjan is a chemist by training, acquired MS in Analytical Chemistry (sp. In Forensic and Medicinal Chemistry) from University of Calcutta. He holds a PhD degree for Synthesis and application of novel polyurethane from IIT Kharagpur, India. Tarakranjan also has more than a year of Post-doctoral research experience in Polymer-inorganic mixed matrix membrane for liquid and gas separations at ENSIC, Nancy, France (CNRS Fellowship). He holds about 15 international publications and five granted Indian and US patents over a span of 20 years long association with research and development activities. On top of these, He was also the author of 9 Global Shell internal publications in water treatment domain.

He has WON (Netherlands) certification for “European Patent Legal Aspects and Legislation and Prior Art Publication Search” and USPTO equivalent IP certification conducted by GE & Patric Yoder law firm of USA. He also holds a Six-sigma green belt certification for patent landscaping.

He is the author of “The Sniffer Dog’ a book published worldwide in 2021 based on Patent Strategy.
